Contraction monitoring more accurate than the standard belt

Novel uterine contraction monitoring to enable remote, self-administered nonstress testing

In short

INVU’s contraction monitoring was tested in 118 women (78 in the validation phase) against the intrauterine pressure catheter, the clinical reference. It was more accurate than the standard external belt (tocodynamometry) and was not affected by body mass index. Together with heart-rate monitoring, the authors conclude this could enable nonstress tests at home.
