Contractions read from the heart’s own signals

A novel, cardiac-derived algorithm for uterine activity monitoring in a wearable remote device

In short

INVU derives uterine activity from the mother’s heart signals, electrical and acoustic, rather than from a pressure belt. In labour, compared with the intrauterine catheter in 41 women, it identified 89.8% of contractions. Where all three methods were recorded together, INVU detected 93.3% of contractions and the external belt 38.5%.
